Key responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:.
Implementing ICT policies, guidelines, procedures and standards;.
Installing and maintaining computer systems;.
Developing and updating application systems;.
Carrying out system analysis design and software specifications in liaison with users;.
Carrying out repairs and maintenance of information communication technology equipment and associated peripherals;.
Drawing up hardware specification for information communication technology equipment;.
Verifying, validating and certifying information communication technology equipment;.
Implementing computer systems and providing user support including training users; and.
Performing technical, systems and user documentation.

For appointment to this grade, an Officer must have:.
Cumulative service period of nine (9) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been in the grade of Senior Information Communication Technology Officer or in a comparable position;.
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Information Communication Technology, Business Information Technology or equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution; and.
Relevant ICT certifications such as CCNP, MCSE, CISA, CISSP, Prince 2 or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;.
Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable;.
Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; and.
Proficiency in computer applications.
