Key responsibilities

An officer at this grade will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:.
Supporting in the implementation of policies, strategies, frameworks, guidelines, plans, standards and procedures that impact on internal audit while ensuring compliance to applicable laws, statutes and circulars;.
Supporting in the implementation of risk based annual internal audit plans and programmes;.
Collecting and collating data for preparing Audit reports with appropriate recommendations;.
Supporting in the implementation of internal audit systems in accordance with International Standards on Auditing;.
Conducting follow-up audits to ensure implementation of audit recommendations;.
Supporting in the implementation of capacity building programs to promote awareness of governance, risk management and internal controls; and.
Updating audit records for adequate documentation in the department.

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have the following Qualifications:.
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: – Commerce (Accounting/ Finance); Business Administration (Accounting/ Finance) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;.
Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Part II or Association of Certified.
Chartered Accountants (ACCA) Part II certificate or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and.
Proficiency in computer applications.
