Head, Quality Assurance & Academic Excellence

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor implementation of academic excellence and quality assurance strategies, policies, frameworks, procedures and standards to improve teaching, learning and service delivery.
• Develop quality assurance strategy, program, policy, procedures, plan and guidelines.
• Participate in the curriculum review processes and ensure compliance with the Commission for Higher Education (CUE), ANU, and market requirements.
• Identify new educational trends for new curriculum, offerings, redesigns and initiatives.
• Participate, coordinate in the internal and external audit processes and prepare reports.
• Lead external audit processes, and ensure compiled recommendations for improvement.
• Develop annual audit plan for the internal academic and non- academic processes to ensure academic excellence.
• Set up quality controls and tools, and inspect/ audit and monitor internal teaching and non teaching processes and procedures in the University. Recommend and implement improvements.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to sensitize on academic excellence and quality assurance standards.
• Develop and monitor the department annual plan and budget.
• Provide technical advice and reports to management when required.
• Academic and Professional Requirements:.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Relevant professional qualification.
• Member of a relevant professional body.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience.
