Key responsibilities

An officer at this grade will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:.
Driving the organization’s vehicles as authorized;.
Carrying out routine checks on the assigned vehicle and reporting any malfunction of vehicle systems and other occurrences;.
Maintaining the movement of work tickets for vehicle(s) assigned;.
Maintaining security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;.
Reporting all accidents and incidents promptly to the relevant IPOA offices;.
Administering first aid in the event of an accident; and.
Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have the following qualifications:.
KCSE mean grade of D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification;.
At least two years’ proven driving experience;.
Valid driving license;.
Suitability Trade Test for Drivers;.
First-Aid Course Certificate lasting not less than one (1) week from Kenya Institute of Highway and Building technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution;.
A valid certificate of good conduct;.
Proficiency in Computer Applications; and.
Practical test for drivers conducted by the ministry responsible for transport or conducted by AA of Kenya.
