Key responsibilities
- Assess children with special needs and disabilities;.
- Refer children assessed to other service providers;.
- Place children assessed in educational programmes;.
- Provide data on assessment;.
- Train assessment staff in functional assessment;.
- Identify children with special needs and disabilities and recommend for placement in schools and institutions;.
- Create awareness, sensitize and capacity-build teachers, parents and other stakeholders dealing with children with special needs and disabilities.
- Participate community outreach service to awareness on disabilities.
Candidate requirements
- Professional Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing.
- Academic Bachelor’s Degree in Education in the area of Special Needs or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
- Professional Two (2) years’ experience working in Functional Assessment.
